Park's first field trip

Park had his first field trip yesterday. They went to the aquarium in Sandy. Here's how the conversation went when he got into the car. It is typical Park.

P: MOM! I saw a real. live. sting ray!

M: Wow! Cool!

P: And some of the kids even touched it!

M: What? Are you serious?! Did you touch it?

P: No. (Imagine a tone of, of course not!)

M: Did you want to touch the sting ray?

P: No. (with the same tone mentioned above)

M: What else did you see?

P: A SHARK! And after we got back we watched Doctor Rabbit and the Tooth Defenders. And you know what mom? The buildings were actually someone's teeth! And he had toothpaste for hair!

Oh! I love my Park!

The Moustache Bash!

Being 8 years old comes with some pretty cool things! Annicka is now in activity days with our church and yesterday they had a daddy daughter dance called the Moustache Bash. As you can tell, Scott and Annicka had a great time together! This girl is growing up so quickly!

Goodbye January!

I heard yesterday on the radio that this was officially the 5th coldest January on record. Boy did it feel like it was the coldest! And it seemed interminable with all the inversions and "too cold to go outside" days! I officially really dislike January. I've decided that I need to start a tradition where we have a family holiday sometime towards the end of January, just to give us something to look forward to. I think I'll make it around January 25th or so and I'll take the kids out of school and we'll do lots of fun things!

 Indie has had the hardest time with not being able to go outside, but we have discovered that he likes puzzles!

My good friend Amber was in town and she had a party in order to see all of her friends. Man do I love these ladies! They always just make me feel so good to be with them! Yay for good friends!

Grandma's Anniversary Dinner

Scott's dad died in November of 2005 and January 25th of 2006 would have marked Ron and Rolyne's 40th WeddinngAnniversary. To help Rolyne celebrate and cope on that day we had a girls night dinner with her. Every year since there has been a special dinner with either all the daughters and daughters-in-law, the sons and sons-in-law, or as this year, all of her kids that live in town. Texas Roadhouse was the destination.

 We all just love this woman! May I say that she is the best mother-in-law EVER?

 Of course Scott and Lori are making faces...what else could we expect?

What a good looking group! This is the only group picture taken and Kaylene was upset because she looks mean! Sorry Kaylene, this one is probably going up on next year's calendar! :)
