Life is Beautiful!

I have a good life. A beautiful life. Of course there are days when I want to tear my hair out. Days when I'm just tired. Days when I just want to sit and children still need something from me. Days when my 11-year-old-who-thinks-she's-16 and I butt heads. Days when trying to get my 9-year-old to do chores is like trying to touch my nose with my chin. Days when my 2-year-old won't let me put her down because there is lava flowing on the ground. Just struggling days. But you know what? Those days make the good moments even better. And when I focus on the good things in my life and when I am GRATEFUL, even for the small mercies on struggling days, I realize just how good I have it. Like when my 2 and 4-year-olds hold hands, just because they like each other at that moment. When my 2-year-old takes a bow at the end of a choir song. When my 11-year-old bids on her autistic friends' art work, because she loves him and wants him to feel special. When my 9-year-old actually rough houses with his two brothers, or shows them how to build something with snap circuits. When my 7-year-old comes home with 100% on his spelling test and has an actual conversation with me. When my 4-year-old smiles his wonderful smile and says, "I just love you mom!" When my husband looks at me and says, "thanks for all you did today."

Yeah, I have a beautiful life.

This Is The Place

We didn't go anywhere for spring break this year because of our cruise. We did, however, take the kids to "This is the Place Heritage Park." Beautiful weather and a fun family day.
 Panning for gold

 Ridin' the Train

 Making arrowhead necklaces.
Cashing in our gold for a piece of paper...not sure why we did that...but Milo sure was excited that what we found (if it had been real) was worth about $6K today. If only it were that easy.
Plowing the fields. Indie is a born farmer. We couldn't tear him away from this contraption.

The Spurs Game of Scott's Dreams

One night a friend of Scott's called and said, "I've got an extra ticket to the Jazz/Spurs game tonight! You in?" And of course he was in! Little did Scott know when he accepted that he would get to greet players as they were coming out of the tunnel at half time, and not just any players, but SPURS PLAYERS! He did have to sacrifice and put on a Jazz t-shirt. But when all was said and done, it was totally worth it. And of course the Spurs won. Cause that's how they roll.
